This easy recipe is simple enough for a child to help!
With just 4 simple ingredients: frozen bananas, frozen strawberries, unsweetened almond milk and a couple optional spoons of natural honey. You could leave out the honey or replace it with stevia.
Ingredients List:
- 3 ripe frozen bananas (310 grams)
- 2 cups frozen strawberries (180 grams)
- 1/3 cup cold unsweetened almond milk
- optional 1 or 2 tbsp natural raw honey or stevia
First step, place the frozen strawberries into the food processor.
Chop the frozen bananas and place them in the food processor.
Add the cold almond milk to the strawberries and bananas.
Add the optional 1 - 2 tbsp of honey or stevia.
Pulse the mixture on high until it becomes, pink smooth and creamy. You may need to pause it half way to push down chunks stuck to the sides with a spatula.
Keep pulsing until it looks creamy enough to serve. You may want to re-chill it for a few minutes before serving if you like it less soft.
Ready to serve immediately as a soft serve ice cream, or chill a bit to make it a bit harder.
A healthy delicious treat for kids, but a nice healthy treat for grown ups too! With the honey this recipe worked out to a light 140 calories per 1/4 portion serving.
