Idleness leads to boredom, and this is another danger zone - to end up munching out of boredom! Getting busy with hobbies or activities is a tip to help keep yourself away from the habit of munching unnecessary calories.
Going out of the house is the best. Go for hikes and walks or join a zumba class. All are great ways to stay active. But, of course we don't usually go out every night of the week.
So, here is what I have done. I started to learn crochet and it became a secondary passion next to creating healthy recipes and summer gardening.
