Easy and Healthy Chocolate Almond Bark - Vegan

Writer: Cookery and CrochetCookery and Crochet

One of our favourite holiday treats is Chocolate Almond Bark. You can find it all wrapped up in boxes for gift giving at the store. But whats really in it? Read the label and see: sugar, cornstarch, partially hydrogenated palm kernel oil, whey powder, soy lecithin, artificial flavour. Do you want those artificial ingredients and empty calories in your body?

How about having healthy raw almonds for lots of healthy fats, fibre, protein, magnesium and vitamin E. Add organic virgin coconut oil with healthy fats that boost fat burning and raise good HDL cholesterol in your blood. Include organic cocoa powder for antioxidants that help prevent heart disease. Stir in a spoonful of sweet raw organic local unpasteurized honey filled with nutrients and enzymes. A dash of pink Himalayan sea salt for trace minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium and potassium. Stir them all together for an energy and health boost and amazing creamy crunchy mouth sensation.

Guilt-free chocolately sweet vegan treat your body will use for for it's health.

Begin by making the chocolate coating.

Assemble the 5 simple organic ingredients to make the chocolate.

Chocolate Ingredients List:

- 1/2 cup organic virgin coconut oil

- 2 tbsp raw organic unpasteurized honey

- 4 tbsp organic cocoa powder

- 1/2 tsp organic pure vanilla

- couple pinches of organic pink Himalayan sea salt

Place all of the ingredients in a heat proof cup or bowl.

Mix all the ingredients with a whisk or a fork.

Microwave the heat proof dish on high setting for 30 seconds. Take out of the microwave and stir again.

Take out of the microwave, stir again and let the liquid chocolate rest for 15 minutes.

Assemble the raw natural almonds and 1/4 cup of the chocolate sauce.

For 1 serving, you will need:

- 1 handful, about 50 grams of raw natural almonds

- 1/4 cup chocolate sauce

Reserve the rest of the melted chocolate to make more almond bark or use for ice cream toppings.

Line a dessert plate with a sheet of plastic wrap.

On top of the plastic lined plate place 50 grams of almonds - about a handful.

Over the almonds, carefully pour the 1/4 cup of premade melted chocolate sauce.

Pour 1/4 cup of melted chocolate sauce over the raw almonds.

Place the dish with melted chocolate and almonds, in the fridge or freezer until it turns hard.

The chocolate will be hard when removed from the freezer or fridge.

Lift the chocolate bark from the dish and peel off the plastic from the back. You can break the chocolate almond bark into serving pieces and arrange onto a serving dish.

Break the hardened chocolate bark into pieces onto a dish, or into a pretty box as a gift.

Giving this creamy/crunchy chocolately almond bark to someone as a healthy Christmas gift will be a good thing but also a tasty treat! They will be impressed that you made it! They will never want store bought chocolate candy again!
