If you are on the healthy eating quest, you are likely avoiding sugar, fructose/glucose additives, dairy products and unhealthy oils. How about enjoying a real banana that has vitamin B6 B12, magnesium and potassium, fiber some protein and natural sweetness? More sweetness is from organic raw honey rich in antioxidants and antibacterial properties. Almonds and almond butter contain lots of healthy fats, fiber, protein, magnesium and vitamin E. All this healthiness in a tasty creamy ice "cream" dessert!
The recipe divided in half to 2 servings, worked out to 306 calories per serving. Divide it into 4 servings and you get a lighter sweet treat at only 153 calories each.
It may taste decadent, but enjoy it guilt-free to your health!
The simple natural Ingredients for this healthy Almond ice "cream:
- 2 ripe frozen bananas
- 2 tbsp of natural raw ground almonds
- additional ground or chopped almonds for ice cream topping
- 2 tbsp natural, raw, organic unpasteurized honey
- 2 tbsp natural organic almond butter
- 1 tsp pure almond extract
Begin by chopping the frozen bananas into medium sized chunks. Place the banana chunks into a food processor.
On top of the chopped bananas, add 2 tbsp of the natural almond butter.
On top of the almond butter, add 2 tbsp of raw organic honey.
On top of the honey, add 1 tsp of pure almond extract.
After the almond extract, add 2 tbsp of ground natural almonds.
Put the lid on and process the frozen bananas mixture on high speed. Stop and take the lid off a couple of times to push the ingredients down the sides with a spatula. It will be done once it is all mixed, smooth and creamy.
Immediately serve the Healthy Almond Soft Serve Ice "Cream" in 2 or 4 serving dishes. You can sprinkle some ground or chopped almonds on top.
